Marlaine V. Gabriel

Marlaine Viola Gabriel, age 91, of Maple Plain, Minnesota, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 18, 2026. She was born August 25, 1934, in Milaca, Minnesota, to Gustav and Ellen Minks. There she grew up on the family farm alongside her siblings, Leland, Verdella, and Virgil.

Marlaine worked at Honeywell in her early years, and it was at First Baptist Church in Minneapolis that she met the love of her life, Carroll Gabriel. They were married in 1959 and shared 62 years of marriage before his passing. Together they built a life centered around family. They created countless memories, especially on the lake they called home, where they offered great hospitality to so many.

Marlaine’s legacy lives on through her children, Carolynn (Todd) Stave, Gregg (Kristin) Gabriel, and Wendy (Nate) Jerde. She was a proud grandmother to Alexis (Phil) Eidum, Alexander (fiancé Melanie Ruff) Stave, Ryan (Becca) Gabriel, Kevin (Payton) Gabriel, Tait Jerde, Tessa Jerde, and Wyatt Jerde, and great-grandmother to Easton and Weston Eidum, and Rory Gabriel.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Maple Plain Community Church.

Marlaine will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle spirit, and the love she carried for her family, neighbors, and many friends.
